Weekend Happenings, Pinterest Stuff (Caramel Apple Cider Basket), Caramel Cobbler

Good Friday evening!

RANDOMNESS - It's that time of year again!

Basketball Season!

We had our Last First Game of the Season last night against Minor, and I am glad to report, we WON!

Alissa and Roxie.

At the beginning of the game, everyone looked like this.

Fast and smooth.

Toward the end of the game, they looked the same, except their ponytails were just a little messier.

Kelci dolled up for the first game.

Mikie took this pic of Josh. Sometimes a Dad can get away with more than a Mom.

It isn't really fair, but it appears to be a universal truth.

If you have ever wondered, this is what a three-point shot looks like.

And if you have ever wondered what it sounds like...

It's like a big ol' SWISH!

Claire handling the ball with the greatest of ease.

Prettiest Bench Girls I have ever seen!

And I just had to post one ponytail shot in the mix as we begin our 2014-2015 journey.

You'll see many more before this season is over and done!

Caramel Cobbler

You will need the following:

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup self-rising flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla (or almond)
1 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 cup hot water
Ice cream or sweetened whipped cream

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt 1 stick butter in 9" x 13" pan.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, milk and flavoring (vanilla or almond, both are excellent). Stir to combine, then pour over melted butter.

3. Sprinkle brown sugar over top of batter.

4. Carefully pour hot water over butter and batter. DO NOT STIR.

5. Cook 30 minutes until golden brown.

This is beyond good, People.

I am not kidding!

Weekend Happenings

Some of us have some big things coming up this weekend.

And some of us...

Not so much.

1. Roxie is attending the High School Play-Offs tonight at Gardendale. The weather might be freezing, but it's going to be a lot of fun.

That's what she said.

I think it might be a little too cold to be "a lot of fun."

2. Josh is going to the movies with a friend.

3. Mike and I are going to have a date of sorts. Just something nice and quiet around the house. A good meal... a couple of games of Yahtzee, some on-line Christmas shopping and maybe a nice romantic comedy on Netflix while sipping hot chocolate.

And while we're at it, I'll light my imaginary fireplace and cozy up next to the fire!

4. Tomorrow, bright and early, Mike and Josh are headed to their 9th SEC Stadium Game (Auburn v. Georgia at Athens). After tomorrow night's game, they will only have five more stadiums to visit before they have completed their list.

Nine years... nine different stadiums.

That's a pretty good track record, isn't it?

5. Roxie and I are planning on checking out the new T. J. Maxx tomorrow, AND...

That's the big question.

I've thrown out a lot of options, but I'm not sure what we'll end up doing together OR apart.

But I am definitely doing something fallish and fun and festive.

I am.

6. After church on Sunday, Austin and Melia are going to meet me and The Chick at Milo's for burgers, fries and sweet tea.

Sometime that afternoon, Josh and Mike will be home from the game...

And life, as we know it, will resume.

Epic doesn't exactly describe it, but if all goes as planned, it should be enjoyable.

I hope you and yours have a lovely, chilly weekend. I plan to be back Tuesday with pics from whatever the six of us have done over the weekend that might be the least bit picture-worthy, AND I want to talk to you about some different ideas we're trying for some of our upcoming Christmas gatherings.

Take care, and I'll talk to you next week.

Sincerely,

The Enchanting Belinda

P.S. We haven't received the remainder of the wedding pics yet, but I will post some more of those as soon as I can.

This may be last set of miscellaneous pics until that time arrives.

Melia and Austin asked Lauren, my great-niece, to be the flower girl...

And she did an awesome job.

And the Mother of the Groom Dress story really needs to accompany the Mother of the Groom Dress picture.

I mean, if we're going to do it, we might as well do it right!
